Harrogate College have been showcasing their many talents at this year’s Great Yorkshire Show.
The ever-popular annual Great Yorkshire Show takes place at the Harrogate Showground every July, attracting an increasing amount of visitors every year with this year’s predicted numbers estimated to be in excess of 150,000 over the 3 days. And naturally, as a major local business as well as being located within a stone’s throw of the grounds, Harrogate College staff couldn’t wait to get involved with the action, enthusiastically manning stand 494 each and every day and offering show visitors a whole host of course related activities to get involved with!
Day One was beautiful in terms of both sunny weather, and the college’s hair and beauty team treating visitors to free hair curling and hand massages. What could be better than visiting the Harrogate College stand and leaving having experienced a mini makeover courtesy of our course experts?
Wednesday saw Stand 494 getting a bit crafty, with live pottery wheel demonstrations and the opportunity to ‘make your own’ meaning visitors created a vibrant collection of pots and vases to take home, and seeing just how skilled our tutors are!
Thursday was the day that Yorkshire tradition came to the College stand, with construction tutors showing off their industry skills by helping visitor’s make their very own Dry Stone Wall but in miniature, an activity that rightly proved to be a star attraction.
As well as Harrogate College staff creating a real Yorkshire welcome, the stand was also home to guests such as Mike Bligh, the Head Coach of Harrogate Town Football Club, offering people free match tickets and promoting our new partnership with the football club, as well as local radio station Stray FM ambushing the stand to provide their always popular sense of fun!
Add to this prize draws for beauty and hair treatments at the College‘s Ambitions Salon, the chance to win tasty meals at the College’s Metro Restaurant, a ‘Guess how many sweets in the jar’ game as well as an abundance of Harrogate College freebies being given out, and the whole event was definitely one to remember!
