Second place for Harrogate College Construction Scarecrow!

You may remember at the end of last term, our 14+ Skills Academy students were hard at work creating two construction themed Scarecrows for the Pinewoods Conservation Trust’s Scarecrow Trail competition?

Well news has finally landed that the builder’s bum has won a fabulous second place! Congratulations to the team and tutors who took part, the amusing Scarecrow was perched along the main path in Pinewoods throughout the summer months, for people to admire.

“I’m so proud of the 14+ Skills Academy students that we have here at Harrogate College. They all pulled together and worked hard to achieve an end of year Community project and second place is a fantastic first attempt. Next year, we will win!” – Josie Guinness, Partnership Manager.

We are also pleased that our Joinery department will be working alongside Pinewoods Conservation Trust to create a variety of bird and bat boxes for the park. Watch this space!
