It’s tricky to be sure about what you want to do when you leave school, and that’s why Harrogate College returned to the Careers in Focus event at the Yorkshire Events Centre on Tuesday 6 October 2015.
Attracting over 1,200 students from our local schools, Harrogate College staff and students supported secondary school visitors from Horsforth to Tadcaster, with information on how studying at Harrogate College would help them secure a bright and inspiring future, whether that be via Apprenticeship, Further or Higher Education.
A highlight of the day was the outdoor stand staffed expertly by our Construction Team. Mark Garland, Curriculum Lead and two of his students, Tim Sanpher and Jonathan Constantine engaged with over 60 school students all keen to get stuck in.
“My Construction Students didn’t stop for a minute and were so good with the schools’ students who all enjoyed learning and sampling the trade. I’m so proud Tim and Johnathan, they are a credit to us and a fine example of young men who will make a successful career in this industry.”Mark Garland – Curriculum Lead
Back undercover, students in Year 10 & 11 were actively seeking information on their next steps and guessing how many Jelly Beans were in the jar with Josie Guinness and Tracey Walker – Congratulations to Olivia Bond from The Snaith School – you were spot on!
