Ella Grovners is currently in her second year at Harrogate College, having progressed onto Level 2 Food and Beverage Service.
Ella spends the majority of her time working in the Metro Restaurant, where she learns the skills needed to work in her chosen career, in industry standard training facilities. The Metro Restaurant is open to the public on lunchtimes and one evening a month, so students have the perfect opportunity to work in a ‘real life’ setting, under strict supervision and guidance.
“I came to Harrogate College last year and began on the Level 1 Food and Beverage Service course. I really enjoyed planning the tables in the restaurant, using logistics to seat as many guests as possible. I also enjoy decorating the tables for events!”
A former Rossett School student, Ella knows that she is on the right path to achieving her goals.
“I’d love to work in the hospitality industry after college, preferably front of house in a large hotel serving famous people!”
As part of their courses, every student must now complete at least 30 hours unpaid work experience in an appropriate field. Ella has already and enthusiastically completed her hours at Weetons Food Hall in Harrogate a fine food shop and café.
