Harrogate Uniformed Public Service students found themselves navigating their way around Ilkley Moor as part of their Expedition Skills unit on Friday 12th February 2016.
The level 2 group took part in a 12km walk where they had to use maps and compasses to get from check point to check point, as well as their pre-prepared route cards that they planned in class before the challenge.
“The students did fantastically well with walking on bearings. The weather was great until the thick fog rolled in and they had to work together as a team to find their way. The route cards that they had prepared beforehand were spot on and they navigated their way between check points with ease.” – Jon Colley, UPS tutor.
