Meet Mark Wilkinson- Tutor for Pastry, Bread & Baking / 6 week course starting w/c 18 April / £180
Mark Wilkinson began his catering career at Lancaster and Morecombe College before taking up a commis chef position at The Sharrow Bay Hotel in Ullswater, where Sticky Toffee Pudding was invented. After working his way up in the Michelin Star restaurant, Mark became Chef de Partie and with a few more years under his belt, moved on to the two Michelin star L’Ortolan Restaurant.
Mark also spent time abroad, cooking fresh fish and baking an array of local treats for guests in a hotel in Mauritius before heading back to England where over the next few years, he won a variety of competitions; including Lancashire Life Newcomer of the Year, NACC Care Cooks Competition and was part of the team that took Paul Heathcoates’ Restaurant to victory in the Cook and Serve competition against hotels such as Claridges and the Ritz.
With over 25 years in the industry, Mark is taking the next generation of young chefs into the industry, tutoring at Harrogate College.
