Students say Bon Appetite in the Metro Restaurant

It was French Gastro night in the Metro Restaurant on Thursday 25 February, with the Catering and Hospitality students serving authentic French cuisine to full house of guests.

The tables were laid appropriately with red, white and blue and the students were adorned in French berets and waistcoats to compliment the evening.

The dishes were beautifully presented and professionally served, with both front of house and chefs working extremely well as a team to get the meals out efficiently and quickly.

Starters included a scrumptious medley of pan seared scallops, with crisp black pudding, smoked bacon and a vibrant pea puree, topped with dressed leaves.


For mains, confit of chicken with a cassoulet of haricot beans, smoked sausage, tomato, garlic and herbs.

And for pudding, a traditional and tangy Tarte au Citron with a generous helping of a sharp raspberry sorbet balanced on top.
