Stray FM presenter gets stuck in with bricklaying

The Construction centre had a visit from Stray FM presenter Tom this week, when he popped along to build a wall!

Tutor Mark Garland and Level 2 Bricklaying student Jonathan set Tom to work with mixing his mortar, gave him a tutorial on different brick types and then had him putting up a wall, all under the strict supervision of the students.

“Tom did extremely well to not only lay the bricks correctly and evenly, but record it for the Education and Training Show whilst he was at it!” – Mark Garland, curriculum lead.

“The pressure was on as I was in a workshop full of experts watching me! I don’t think I’ve ever worked so hard! The facilities are excellent and it was very peaceful in there.” – Tom Harland, Stray FM.
