Harrogate Business students studying in their second year have had the opportunity to have their business plans put to the test by local businessman Nigel Dakin.
The Enterprise Gateway Manager of Harrogate Borough Council visited the students at the beginning of the year to offer advice and guidance on how to write their own business plans as part of their ‘Starting a Small Business’ module.
Over the course of this unit, the students have had to decide on a small business that they would like to set up, and then produce a full business proposal for this. Before they can present their business plan to a bank manager after half term, it must be discussed with a business mentor, so Nigel returned this week to check on progress and offer constructive criticism where needed.
“The students all found the process very interesting and helpful to gain valuable advice from an established businessman such as Nigel. Thank you to Nigel for offering his help and time to our students.” – Carol Garland, course tutor.
