Harrogate College Learning Support staff held a clothes sale, where people could donate their unwanted items for them then to be sold to a loving home.
Students and staff alike all got stuck in with searching though the piles of clothes, jewellery, bags and even some shoes, and donating to the Young Adult Carers; a cause close to the hearts of the Learning Support team at Harrogate College.
“Thank you from our Young Adult Carers at Harrogate College, who enjoyed a night of fun and laughter thanks to your team. The group decided they wanted to put the money you raised towards Go-Karting trup to help them relieve the stress of the exam period.” – Hettie Flynn, Young Adult Carers’ Resource
The money raised by the Harrogate College Learning Support team was used to take the Young Adult Carers to York for a fun filled evening on the Go-Karting indoor race track, where they could enjoy some care-free time. It proved perfect timing for the activity as it’s National Carers Week.
“All the young people are extremely appreciative of your hard work and spoke highly of the Learning Support team, who give fantastic support throughout the college.” – Hettie Flynn
“It’s amazing how such a simple idea of having a small clean out in your wardrobe can bring joy to other people, by either having a new item or by using the money raised to treat the Young Adult Carers.” – Hilary Grovners, Learning Support
