International Food Day, held on Tuesday 4th April across the group, was a huge success at Harrogate College.
Organised by Art and Design tutor Ali Hazleton and Student Union Marketing Officer Maya Jagger, the event ran very smoothly and was well attended, with staff and students exploring the variety of food on offer.
Two members of staff from the Additional Learning Support team, Goli Shaghouei from Iran and Leyla Kenbar from Turkey, prepared delicious dishes from their countries, whilst ESOL, Businesss and Art students brought dishes of their ancestors and talked about how to make them.
Student enjoyed delights from Persian Curry to Cranachan and German Pumpernickel to Welsh Cakes.
Wikki, a student from Poland, explained that her dish of Pigeon was not really a Pigeon but a cabbage roll made from lightly soft-boiled cabbage leaves wrapped around minced pork or beef!
